He plays for India in all formats of cricket. Iyer made his debut against New Zealand in November 2021 and scored a century in the first innings and a half-century and became the first Indian player to do so. He plays for Mumbai Cricket in domestic matches. He made a comeback after injury against Australia ODI series in India and scored 3 runs and 105 respectively.
