Nitish Rana Biography: Nitish Rana is the new captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rana was born on the 27th of December 1993. He is a left-handed aggressive batsman. He is also a part-time slow off-spinner bowler. He was the captain of Delhi in November 2018 and is now KKR captain in 2023 in place of Shreyas Iyer.
Rana scores maiden first-class hundred for Uttar Pradesh: After leaving Delhi Capitals, Nitish Rana has been in impressive form for his new team, Uttar Pradesh. He recently scored his maiden first-class century, a knock of 106 runs against Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. This innings helped Uttar Pradesh take a crucial first-innings lead in the match.

Nitish Rana’s earlier career
He is a left-handed batsman and an off-spin bowler. He made his first-class debut for Delhi in the season 2015-2016 Ranji Trophy. He has scored 557 runs with an average of 50.63 and is a leading run-getter. He scored 218 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the same season. He is also a leading six-hitter in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored 299 runs in 8 innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with a strike rate of 175.88 and an average of 50.63 in the 2015-2016 season. - 97 off 40 balls against Andhra
- 53 off 29 balls against Baroda
- 60 off 44 balls against Jharkhand
- 63 off 34 balls against Kings XI Punjab in IPL
In the year 2018 in October, he was selected for India A’s squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. In December 2018 he was selected for ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and Oct 2019 he was selected for India B’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy.

Nitish Rana with KKR
The Delhi-based aggressive and stylish player joined Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2018. He has been retained since then. He is a very useful contributor to KKR. He has scored runs with a strike rate of over 146 in IPL 2019. He is the most reliable player for KKR and often rescues in some crucial moments in KKR batting. He plays as a middle order batsman but he has also open innings for KKR against Sunrisers Hyderabad when KKR chased 182 runs and made 68 in 47 balls.
