Abhishek Sharma Profile: Abhishek Sharma was born on 4 September 2000 into a Punjabi Hindu family in Amritsar, Punjab, India. His father, Raj Kumar Sharma, a former cricket player, works with the Bank of Baroda in Amritsar, while his mother, Manju Sharma, is a housewife. Abhishek is the youngest of three siblings, with sister Komal Sharma, a doctor at S.G.R.D. Medical College in Amritsar, and Sonia Sharma. He completed his schooling at Delhi Public School in Delhi.

Sharma continued to shine in domestic cricket, making his Under-19 debut for Punjab in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy in the 2016-17 season.

In January 2018, Sharma was bought by Delhi Daredevils in the IPL auction for Rs 5.5 million. He made his Twenty20 debut for the team on 12 May 2018, scoring 46 runs off just 19 balls.
2022-present: Sunrisers Hyderabad
In February 2022, Abhishek Sharma was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL auction. During the 2022 season, he played 14 matches, scoring a total of 426 runs. In IPL 2024, he scored the fastest fifty for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians on 27 March 2024. He finished the 2024 season with 484 runs in 16 matches at an impressive strike rate of around 200, including 42 sixes, and was the second-highest run-scorer for his team after Travis Head.

International Career: Abhishek Sharma Profile
Under-19 International
Abhishek Sharma captained the India Under-19 team for the 2016 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. He also led the Indian Under-19 team in a home Youth ODI series against England in 2017, which India won 3-1. Sharma participated in all of India’s matches during the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, scoring an important 50 runs against Bangladesh in the quarterfinal.
T20 International
In July 2024, Sharma was selected for India’s squad for the T20 series against Zimbabwe. He made his T20I debut on 6 July 2024 in the first T20I against Zimbabwe. In the second match, he smashed his maiden T20I century, scoring 100 runs off 47 balls with a strike rate of 212.76 at the Harare Sports Club.
