KKR vs PBKS Match Abandoned: The 44th match of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens was washed out due to heavy rain. PBKS had posted an impressive total of 201 runs, but KKR’s run chase lasted just one over before the weather took over, forcing the match to be abandoned.
Can KKR Still Make It to the Playoffs?
KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane, has had a mixed season so far, winning three and losing five out of their nine games. They are currently placed seventh on the points table with seven points.
With five league games left — against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru — KKR must win all their matches to reach 17 points and secure a strong chance of qualifying.
If they lose even one match, they will have to rely on other teams’ results. Their main competition for a playoff spot comes from PBKS, Mumbai Indians (MI), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who have more points at the moment. However, KKR has a better net run rate (NRR) compared to LSG, which could work in their favor.

Next up, KKR will face the in-form Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, who have won six of their eight games so far. It’s a tough road ahead, but with consistent performances, KKR can still dream of a playoff spot.
